Beatrice Elizabeth

Communion Chalice

Rubies, Sapphires, Spessartite Garnets, Sterling Silver, Tourmalines

Chasing & Repoussé, Fabricated, Raised

Beatrice is my mom’s name and Elizabeth is Susan’s middle name. I worked on this piece on and off for almost a year because there was a lot of chase and repoussé. There is a bee inside of the cup that can come out of the flower. Susan set the stones on the bottom of the cup. The idea is that when you tip up the cup to drink out of it, the person across from you will see something nice. I have no intention of ever selling this piece

Todd Jeffrey Ellis, interviewed by Haliburton Life magazine in 2018
